She emigrated to America June 7, 1887 to Watson, Chippewa County, Minnesota with her parents and sister. The family moved to Grant County, Minnesota 1988. On December 18, 1890 she married Carl J. The family moved to Grant County, Minnesota 1988. On December 18, 1890 she married Carl J. Johnson at Elbow Lake, MN. In 1900 they moved to Donneybrook, ND. In 1919 they moved into Minot, ND. They had five children: Julia Mattson, Clara Grams, Adolph, Orville, and Elmer Johnson. She is survived by her husband, 5 children and 8 grandchildren at the time of death; her father Ole Halvorson Haug and sister Anna Wanderoos, both of Elbow Lake, MN. Jorgine was preceded in death by her mother Liv Halvorson. Jorgine died at her home in Minot, ND of cancer. Death ended an illness of 6 months during which Mrs. Johnson was confined to her bed. CARL JOHNSON, MINOT, ILL FOR 6 MONTHS, WAS CANCER VICTIM Mrs. Carl Johnson, 59, wife of a retired farmer residing In Minot, who with her husband, settled at Aurelia in 1900, died of cancer at her home at 627 Second street northeast, this city, shortly after midnight today. Mr. and Mrs. Johnson had lived in Minot for the last 10 years. Death ended an Illness of six months during which Mrs. Johnson was confined to her bed. The deceased was the mother of Mrs. Isak Mattson, Mrs. R. E, Grams, and Adolph Johnson, of Minot. Orville and Elmer Johnson, both of Aurelia, are sons of Mrs. Johnson. Her husband and eight grandchildren are also listed among the survivors. Funeral services will be held at the Moravian church of Aurelia Wednesday afternoon and burial will be at the cemetery there. Until Wednesday at noon the body may be viewed by Minot. friends at the Hamre Undertaking parlors. The Rev. T. F. Gullixon, pastor of the First Lutheran church of Minot will officiate at the funeral. Jorgene Halvorson was born in Telemartin Norway October 5, 1870. She immigrated into this country as a young girl, and came to Milan, Minn. Thirty-nine years ago she was married at Elbow Lake, Minn., to Mr. Johnson. Their homestead included the site of the present village of Aurelia where they lived for nearly 29 years betfore moving to Minot. Besides the relatives named above Mrs. Johnson has a sister, Mrs. L. K. Wanderoos, of Elbow Lake, Minn. From The Minot Daily News. Sept. 16th 1929 JOHNSON FUNERAL Three sons. Orville, Elmer, and Adolph Johnson were pallbearers at the funeral of their mother. Mrs. Carl Johnson, Minot resident and Aurelia pioneer, which was hold yesterday afternoon from the Moravian church at Aurelia. With the sons of Mrs. Johnson, Reinhold Grams, Edgar and Kenneth Albert served as bearers of her casket. Burial was made in the Moravian cemetery, following services conducted by the Rev. T. F Gullixson, of Minot. Music for the services was furnished by 'the choir of the Moravian church. Mrs. Johnson was the mother of Mrs. Isak Mattson and Mrs. R. E. Grams of Minot.
