Read More	Joseph Anderson died on July 22, 1910, at the age of 81 years, 7 months, and 21 days. Information found Harriett Isabella Anderson's family bible. Joseph Anderson was born in Warren County, Ohio on November 25, 1828 and died at the home of his son in Torrington, Wyoming, Friday, July 22, 1910 at the age of 81 years, 7 months, 27 days. His early life was spent in Ohio. He was married to Lydia Ann Spence on June 26, 1851, four miles north of Sidney, Shelby County, Ohio. they resided there until 1859 when they moved to Hancock County, Illinois. He enlisted as a soldier in the Union Army, but never saw active duty, being called to the hospital of Camp Butler to serve as nurse under Eli Matthews, serving four months, until the close of the war. In the year 1868, he and his family moved to Page County, Iowa, living in or near College Springs until 1877, when they moved to Pawnee County, Nebraska, where they underwent the hardships of early settlers, residing one mile north of the Mission Church for 17 years. His wife died on July 7, 1889 and is buried in the Mission Creek Cemetery. In 1894, the deceased moved to Stockville, Mississippi, where he lived for 6 1/2 years. In 1901 he came back to Pawnee County, Nebraska and from that time he made his home with his three youngest children. He was the father of 12 children, five of whom are still living. They are: J. C. Anderson of Lee Summit, Missouri, W. C. Anderson of Red Oak, Iowa, J. R. Anderson of Wheatland, Wyoming, Mrs. J. A. Hayes of Monmouth, Illinois, and G. A. Anderson of Torrington, Wyoming. The remains were brought east, arriving at Liberty, Nebraska, Sunday afternoon. Funeral services were conducted at the Bowhay School House in Mission Creek, Nebraska, on Monday afternoon and interment was made in the cemetery near that place. The deceased was a member of the United Presbyterian Church and was a devout Christian. He was a brother of C. B. Anderson, who resides on Route 1 of this city.
