The deceased was born in Bedford county Pennsylvania, January 5, 1835, being sixty nine years of age at the time of his death. When quite young he removed to Virginia and from there to Clinton County, Iowa, where he united in marriage with Miss Hannah Shadle in 1858. He served in the union... The deceased was born in Bedford county Pennsylvania, January 5, 1835, being sixty nine years of age at the time of his death. When quite young he removed to Virginia and from there to Clinton County, Iowa, where he united in marriage with Miss Hannah Shadle in 1858. He served in the union army during the civil war. In 1871 he came to Boone County and has resided here ever since. The funeral was held from the house, Rev. J.L. Hayden officiating, and the remains laid to rest in the Amaqua cemetery.
