Johnson, a prominent influential citizen of the vicinity of Carmel, died early Sunday morning of heart disease at the age of 54 years, 1 month and 20 days. Johnson, a prominent influential citizen of the vicinity of Carmel, died early Sunday morning of heart disease at the age of 54 years, 1 month and 20 days. He was born near Chillicothe and spent the early part of life in that vicinity. On the 9th of June, 1870, he was married to Miss Lydia E. Sams, of Carmel, Ohio after settled on the farm where he died and where he has ever since lived, meriting and holding the esteem of his neighbors by his upright walk, fair dealing and kindness of heart. He was a devoted member of the Christian Union Church at Marshall, belonged to the Masonic Fraternity at Hillsboro and also to the Knights of Pythias at Rainsboro. He leaves his wife to whom he was devotedly attached and two daughters, one of whom is the wife of George Leibrock of Ecmansville, and the other is the wife of Jesse Wise of Carmel. Funeral services will be held at the C. U. Church at Marshall tomorrow and the remains will be taken to Hillsboro Cemetery for interment. Contributor: Marianna Kerns Morgan (47616369)
