Description	:	Joseph Billie Teague, age 80, a resident of Coalfield, passed away Friday, March 13, 2015, at Methodist Medical Center in Oak Ridge. Mr. Teague was born July 20, 1934 in Greene County, TN. He has lived in Coalfield for the past 39 years. Joe entered into the United States Army and served his country during the Korean War. Read More	Joseph Billie Teague, age 80, a resident of Coalfield, passed away Friday, March 13, 2015, at Methodist Medical Center in Oak Ridge. Mr. Teague was born July 20, 1934 in Greene County, TN. He has lived in Coalfield for the past 39 years. Joe entered into the United States Army and served his country during the Korean War. Following his U.S. Army discharge he enlisted into the U.S. Navy and served during the Vietnam War. He had a total of 21 years of military service and he retired from the U.S. Navy achieving the rank of Senior Chief. While serving he received several commendations including medals, ribbons, citations and badges. Following his move to Coalfield in 1976, he began employment at O.R.N.L. for Martin Marietta as an electrician. He received his second retirement from O.R.N.L. in 1996. Mr. Teague loved his family, his church, his country and the Coalfield community. He was a member of Middle Creek Baptist Church and he formerly taught the Adult Men's Bible Class at both Kellytown Baptist Church and Pleasant Grove Baptist Church. He and his wife also enjoyed visiting the elderly at local nursing homes. He was a member of the Coalfield Lyons Club, the Coalfield Senior Citizens, and he also served on the Morgan County Election Committee. He was preceded in death by his parents, Kenneth Teague and Imogene Jones Teague, by a daughter, Maria de Las Angeles Teague, by a son, Joseph Billie Teague, Jr., by a sister, Christine Teague, by brothers; Phillip and Dale Teague, by his mother-in-law, Ruth Hamby, by a sister-in-law, Peggy Jones, and by his step-mother-in-law, Lois Napier Hamby. He is survived by his wife, Karen Hamby Teague of Coalfield, by daughters; Lisa Marie Ogle of Nashville, and Katrina Moore and husband Gerald, of Coalfield, by a son Scott McPeters and wife Kyla, of Coalfield, by grandchildren; Ronnie Ogle of Nashville, Meagan Mooneyhan and husband Aaron, Zach Moore, Katelyn McPeters, and Levi McPeters all of Coalfield and by Caitlyn Wakefield who was considered as a grandchild. Additionally, he is survived by sisters; Wanda Shealy and husband S.W., of Newberry, SC, and Sandra Neal and husband Billy, of Greeneville, TN, by his father-in-law, Fred Hamby of Coalfield, and by several nieces, nephews, extended family and a host of special friends. The family will receive friends Monday, March 16, 2015, between the hours of 11:00 am and 1:00 pm, at Sharp Funeral Home. The funeral will follow at 1:00 pm, in the funeral home chapel with Pastor Corey Jones and Pastor Ronald Guthrie officiating. Burial and graveside services with full military honors will immediately follow the funeral at Anderson Memorial Gardens, with Pastor Mack Smith officiating.
