Description	:	Youngest child of Catherine Ries and Philip Bosch Joe, the youngest of eleven siblings, was born on the farm near Burstall, Saskatchewan in 1928. After he finished school, he moved to Oyen, Alberta and began working on various farms. In 1948, he bought the Ford garage with his brother-in-law in Oyen and they named it Bosch Motors. Joe met his wife Ruth on a blind date in Calgary in 1954; they were married in 1955 and recently celebrated their 65th anniversary. In 1959, he sold his share of the garage and returned to farming full time. During his years in Oyen, he served on town council and was a member of the Catholic school board. In 1972, the family moved to Medicine Hat where he worked as a bookkeeper at Wittke Iron Works for 23 years until his retirement in 1994. Joe was a member of the Knights of Columbus for over 55 years, and was an active participant in the church. He was an avid gardener, filling the backyard with all kinds of vegetables every summer. He loved watching baseball, hockey and curling and did the WordSearch puzzle in the paper every day. He was musically inclined, loved singing, and playing the banjo and the autoharp. He was a gifted orator and his speeches at family functions were enjoyed by all. Joe was a generous, kind man, he enjoyed spending time with his family and he will be missed by all who knew him.
