Leonard, late of the 101st Ohio Vols., was laid to rest in Evergreen cemetery by his comrades of Howe Post, G.A.R.of Britt. The funeral services at the Congregational church were largely attended, and were held by Re. Stewart assisted by Rev. McClintock. The G.A.R ritual burial services held at the cemetery were both beautiful and impressive. The ladies of the W.R.C. He served two years and ten months in the service of his country and was honorably discharged at the close of the war.
