Casketbearers, all grandsons, were: Mark Connolly, Jim Connolly, Pat Greenwood, Bill Greenwood, Richard Connolly, and Lyle Connolly. Joseph C. Connolly was born May 2, 1892 at Cascade, son of the late Jeremiah and Eliza Delaney Connolly. He received his education in the rural schools. He was married to Norean Dolphin on May 1, 1918 at St. Martin's Church in Cascade. Following their marriage the couple farmed in the Cascade area until he retired to Farley in 1957. He was a former member of the Cascade Knights of Columbus and had served as a director of the Cascade Mutual Insurance Co. of Cascade for a number of years. Surviving are one son, John Connolly of Cascade; two daughters, Mrs. Phil (Mary) Sweeney of Farley and Mrs. Bernard (Nelda) Magdal, Nashville, Tenn.; 29 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; one brother, Walter Connolly, Cascade and a number of nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Norean; one son, Paul Connolly; one daughter, Mrs. Eldon (Grace) Greenwood; two sisters; and one brother. St. Martin's Scripture wake service was held Sunday evening at 8 o'clock at the Reiff Funeral Home in Farley.
