Kush, 83, were held Monday at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church and Cemetery at St. Paul, Neb., with Rev. Robert Rooney officiating. In failing health for several months, Mr. Kush died Dec. 11 at his St. Paul home. He was born near Shelby Feb. 12, 1892, the son of Thomas and Catherine (Barnes) Kush; received his education in Osceola and later moved with his parents to Clarks where they farmed. ... He was born near Shelby Feb. 12, 1892, the son of Thomas and Catherine (Barnes) Kush; received his education in Osceola and later moved with his parents to Clarks where they farmed. In 1916 he married Mrs. Clara Mostek Gutzmer at Shelby. They farmed for a time near Shelby, and in the late 1920s moved to St. Paul, where he worked on various farms and later was employed at Curly's Recreation Center and Kelly's Tavern. He is survived by a son, Joseph Jr. of Topeka, Kan.; stepdaughter, Mrs. Gordon Kruse of Fremont; seven grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; brother Thomas of Omaha; four sisters, Mrs. Steve Czuba and Mrs. Vera Kuta, both of Columbus, Mrs. Josie Prorock of Fullerton, Mrs. Coy Morrison of Odessa. Preceding him in death were his wife, 1969; son Rolland, in World War II; 16-year-old son, Ralph, 1946; stepson, Marvin; stepdaughter, Clair Jacobs, whose two daughters made their home with Mr. Kush; three sisters, Mrs. Pauline Morris, Mrs. Mary Czapla, Mrs. Agnes Czapla; and a brother, Louis.--[submitted by Marge Galus Sandlier--no relationship to deceased]
