Description	:	Joseph C. Houk, 84, of St. Martin, died Tuesday morning (Oct. 8, 2002) at Clermont Mercy Hospital. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Huffner Houk, who died May 10, 1992. Mr. Houk was born March 30, 1918, near Westboro, son of the late Joseph N. and Nellie G. Moon Houk. He was a retired employee of General Motors in Dayton. He had been a member of the Fayetteville Volunteer Fire Department for 35 years and retired as assistant chief. Houk, 84, of St. Martin, died Tuesday morning (Oct. 8, 2002) at Clermont Mercy Hospital. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Huffner Houk, who died May 10, 1992. Mr. Houk was born March 30, 1918, near Westboro, son of the late Joseph N. and Nellie G. Moon Houk. He was a retired employee of General Motors in Dayton. He had been a member of the Fayetteville Volunteer Fire Department for 35 years and retired as assistant chief. He had been a township trustee for Perry Township for 19 years and had been a member of the Fayetteville-Perry School Board for nine years. He was a lifelong member of St. Martin Catholic Church. He is survived by a daughter, Moira McGraw of New Vienna; three sons, Joseph N. (Judy) Houk of St. Martin, Ray (Agnes) Houk of St. Martin and Frank (Cathie) Houk of Fayetteville; eight grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren. In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by a son, John P. Houk, who died in 1967; a sister, Helen Dean; five brothers, Harold, Frank, Norman, Olin and William Houk; and a great-granddaughter, Lindsey Houk. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Martin Catholic Church, the Rev. Mike Savino as celebrant, with burial in St. Martin Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday and from 9 to 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Martin Parish Hall. Arrangements are under the direction of DAVIS-TURNER FUNERAL HOME, 201 Broadway St., Lynchburg.
