JOSEPH CHRISTE, postmaster and merchant of Tecumseh village, Sandwich East, County of Essex, was born in Alsace, France, Sept. 25, 1823, a son of Jacques and Catherine (Mamie) Christe, who were reared in their native Alsace, and died there.
