Description	:	Joseph Clarence Clay, son of Swen and Ida Clay, was born March 25, 1887 in Ragan, Nebr., and passed away at his home October 4, 1959 at the age of 72 years, 6 months and 9 days. The family moved to Decatur County, Iowa in 1893 and he spent the rest of his life in Decatur and Wayne counties. On March 6, 1911 he was united in marriage to Minnie Sinclair at Trenton, Missouri. Read More	Joseph Clarence Clay, son of Swen and Ida Clay, was born March 25, 1887 in Ragan, Nebr., and passed away at his home October 4, 1959 at the age of 72 years, 6 months and 9 days. The family moved to Decatur County, Iowa in 1893 and he spent the rest of his life in Decatur and Wayne counties. On March 6, 1911 he was united in marriage to Minnie Sinclair at Trenton, Missouri. To this union ten children were born. He was a member of the Olive Branch Lodge No. 210 of Lineville forty years. Preceding him in death were his parents, one brother, two sisters, two infant sons, two daughters, Nellie Mae and Irene. Surviving are his wife, Minnie; sons, Ralph of Oelwein, Joe Jr., of Des Moines; daughters, Mrs. Elaine Lockridge of Des Moines, Mrs. Ione Vaughn, Mrs. Wilma Rockhold, Mrs. Helen Rockhold of Lineville, seven grandsons, seven granddaughters, one great granddaughters, four brothers, James and Claude of Woodland, Ia., Ray of Auburn, Wash., and Ralph of Brush, Colo. and a host of other relatives and friends. Funeral services were held Wednesday at 2:00 p.m. in the Methodist Church in Lineville with Rev. Mark Weston and Rev. Dwight Belknap in charge of the service. Pallbearers were Jess Shinn, Perry Hinds, Lester Elsey, Lloyd Garton, Jeff Thompson and Donald Rockhold. Interment was in the Evergreen Cemetery at Lineville.
