Osceola Sentinel, Osceola, Iowa November 11, 1926, Page 9 Joseph Daniel Mason Joseph Daniel Mason, son of Owen and Nancy Mason, was born near Eddyville, Iowa, July 6, 1855, and departed this life November 1, 1926 at his home in Woodburn, at the age of 71 years, 3 months, 25 days. He was united in marriage to Martha Eliza Hannan, February 20, 1875, to this union were born eight children, Mrs. Lottie Powell, Owen and Clell Mason, all of Woodburn; Mrs. Pearl Holt, Mrs. Bruce Arnold and Charlie, all of Lucas; Earl of Cleveland, Ohio, and Mrs. Dora Perkins who preceeded him in death August 8, 1916. He leaves to mourn his departure his wife, seven children, thirty-one grandchildren and one great grandchild, and a host of friends. He was a good neighbor, loving father and husband and counted his friends by his acquaintance. He had been in poor health for about a year and took his bed about seven weeks ago. He was always patient through his sickness never complaining and always having a cheerful word for his friends. He spent the greater part of his life in Monroe and Lucas counties and moved to Woodburn about seven years ago where he spent the remainder of his life. Services were conducted at the Christian church at Woodburn by Rev. Charles E. Cooper. Remains were laid to rest in the Bethel Chapel cemetery. A precious one from us has gone, A voice we loved is stilled, A place in vacant in our home, Which never can be filled. Card of Thanks The mother and children wish to thank Rev. Charles E.
