Doig (Born 1939 in WV) ======================== Joseph Doig III, 80 of Victoria, Texas, formerly of St. Albans, died January 28, 1995 at Citizens Hospital, Victoria TX. He was a son of the late Joseph Doig, Jr. and Mae Doig. He was a member and counselor for Mended Hearts Association. He was a retired training supervisor at Union Carbide, was also employed by Devereux Foundation and member of Northside Baptist Church, where he taught Bible Study for 55 years. He is survived by his wife, Merle Miller Doig, Victoria TX; one son, Larry Doig, League City TX; stepson, Glenn Miller, Yoakum TX; two brothers, Colin Doig, Sistersville, Walter Gilleland, West Hamlin; four sisters, Dorothy Erickson, Zanesville, OH, Ethel Mae Boyles, Sistersville, Janet Barrick, Sistersville and Wanda Mullins, Augusta ME; five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Josephine. Graveside services will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. at Grasslick Church, with the Rev. Dan Berger, officiating. Burial in Grasslick Cemetery. Friends may call from 7-9 p.m. at Vail Funeral Home, Ripley. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to American Heart Association.
