Description	:	The last rites for Joseph Dusanek of Friend were held at the farm residence Friday afternoon at 2:00 o'clock. Rev. K.O. Zavadil of Wilber had charge of the services, assisted by Joseph Kasl and Mr. Burda for the ZCBJ Lodge. Mrs. Fred Bors, Mrs. Abbie Cerny, Mrs. Kate Nedela, and Mrs. Albert Slapnicka sang. Joseph Dusanek was born October 20, 1889 on a farm in Saline County, Nebraska and passed away after a prolonged illnes at the St. Elizabeth Hospital in Lincoln on Tuesday, May 4, 1937 at the age of 46 years, 6 months, and 14 days. On April 7, 1909 he was united in marriage to Miss Emma Hayek. Since then they had lived on a farm nine miles southeast of Friend, until the spring of 1936 when they moved to Friend. Their union was blessed with four children. He leaves to mourn his untimely departure his wife, Mrs. Emma Dusanek, one son, Fred Dusanek of Friend; three daughters, Mrs. Fred Horak of Western; Mrs. Joe Kolar and Mrs. Loren Rezabek of Exeter; three grandchildren, two brothers, Eman and Frank Dusanek of Dorchester; five sisters, Mrs. Joseph Vnoucek of Milligan; Mrs. Otto Aksamit of Hallam; Mrs. Edward Vostrez, Mrs. James Kalina, and Mrs. Lumir Maryska of Wilber, besides a host of other relatives and friends. His parents, Frank and Katherina Dusanek and two brothers, Edward and Fred, preceded him in death. Mr. Dusanek was an active member of the ZCBJ Lodge No. 133, serving as treasurer. He was secretary of the Farmers Elevator Company and a board member of the Farmers Oil Co at Friend. He was highly esteemed by all who knew him which was attested to by the large number of relatives and friends who attended his funeral. Source: The Crete News, May 13, 1937
