Description	:	Son of Vernon E. and Frances G. (Dishong) Lattin. While growing up the family lived in several places but Joe considered Alliance his home. Joe was proud to be a World War II veteran serving in the 5th Army Air Force. He married Gene Ellen Boyce on October 19, 1947 in Alliance. The couple made their residence at the ranch south of Mullen, NE. Three sons were born to them: Stephen Michael, Mark Jeffrey and Paul Douglas. He married Gene Ellen Boyce on October 19, 1947 in Alliance. The couple made their residence at the ranch south of Mullen, NE. Three sons were born to them: Stephen Michael, Mark Jeffrey and Paul Douglas. After Gene's death in 1954, Joe continued to work and raise the boys on the ranch. He also served as Hooker County Commissioner as well as on the school board and ASCS Board. Joe married Evelyn Joyce (Reynolds) Maucher in Alliance on January 8, 1961. With this marriage came two stepdaughters, Mica and Patricia. Joe and Joyce moved to Alliance in 1976 where they lived for several years. While living and working in Alliance Joe took an active part in building the new Seventh-day Adventist Church. After retiring, they moved to the farm outside of Hemingford that they lovingly called "Dry Creek". During their years at Dry Creek, they enjoyed spending time together, cultivating their trees and just being outside in the country. Survivors include his sons, Steve (Nolene) Lattin of Bayard, NE and Paul (Percilla) Lattin of Farragut, IA, his stepdaughters: Mica Maucher of Imperial, NE and Patricia Maucher of Sterling, CO., his grandchildren, Becca Lattin of Scottsbluff, NE; Darren (Christine) Lattin of Livingston, MT; Brett (Kaycee) Lattin of Sheridan, WY; SSgt. William (Keri) Lattin, USMC of Kearney, NE; Chris Bivens of Gering, NE; Tom Bivens of Scottsbluff, NE; Suzanne Bivens of Bayard, NE; Tara (Josh) Dunn of Harrison, NE; Joe (Amy) Lattin of Shenandoah, IA; Nick Lattin of Chadron, NE; Tyler, Tricia and Torie Fosdick of Sterling, CO. and many great-grandchildren. Preceding him in death were his wives, Gene and Joyce; his son, Mark; his parents, 1 brother, 2 sisters and grandsons Justin Howell and Kenley Farrell.
