Marsh, was born Sept. 7, 1920 near Atlantic and died March 11, 2004, in Tucson, AZ. He was raised by his stepfather and mother John and Effie Pipgrass." "He attended rural schools near Atlantic, then helped other farmers." "On Nov. 7, 1942, he was inducted in to the U.S. Army. During his tour of duty, he served with the 1st Battalion Headquarters Company 361st Infantry Regiment as an Intelligence Observer. He was honorably discharged on Sept. 11, 1945.... In the early 1980s, Joseph retired from the IA DOT and sold their farm. They moved to Casa Grande, AZ, and then later moved to Tucson." "He is survived by his wife, Virginia (Verlee) Marsh of Tucson; his children: Marvel and wife, Suzie Larsen of Tucson; Virginia (Ginny) and husband, Bob Parks of Ames; Gary and wife, Danette Marsh of Houston, TX; his grandchildren: Brian Parks of Ames; Kristin Parks of Des Moines; and Sara Marsh of Houston."
