Ocken officiated. Burial was in the church cemetery. Mr. Thiel died Thursday morning in a Sioux City, Ia., hospital after a short illness. The deceased was born June 2, 1905 at Liberty, Neb. Ocken officiated. Burial was in the church cemetery. Mr. Thiel died Thursday morning in a Sioux City, Ia., hospital after a short illness. The deceased was born June 2, 1905 at Liberty, Neb. When he was 2 years old the family moved to Greeley. He grew to manhood on a farm near O'Connor and later farmed in this area. He and Clara Lange were married April 2, 1929 at Wood River. They lived here until 1944 when they moved to a farm near Mapleton, Ia. Six years ago he left the farm and had been the proprietor of Thiel's Recreation. Mr. Thiel was a member of the Holy Name Society, was a past Grand Knight of the Knights of Columbus and a member of the Mapleton Club. Survivors include his wife; six daughters, Mrs. Richard Smith (Joan), Mrs. Robert Johnson (Arlene), Mrs. Jerald Wessling (Catherine), Mrs. Charles Feller (Ina), Miss Marcela Thiel, all of Omaha, and Miss Jean Thiel of Mapleton, Ia.; eight sons, Donald, Thomas, Ronald, all of Mapleton, Ia., Robert of Oakland, Cal., and Lawrence, Jerry, John and Harold, all of Omaha; his step-mother, Mrs. Rose Thiel of Cheyenne, Wyo.; six sisters, Miss Marie Thiel, Mrs. Joseph Juckins, both of Chicago, Mrs. Verle Robertson of North Platte, Mrs. Agnes Olson of Cheyenne, Mrs. Raleigh Walker of Goose Rock, Ky., and Sister Frances Xavier of Fordham University in the Bronx, N.
