Description	:	Joe Wilson, who resided here for several years, passed away Monday at his home in St. Paul. Death was caused by a severe heart attack. He was born October 26, 1864 at Beardtown, Illinois and had reached the age of 78 years, 2 months and 23 days. He came here from Rising City in 1904 and in June 1905 was married to Lizzie Cochran. The Palmer Journal, January 28, 1943, page 3, transcribed by Linda Berney ******** The Phonograph, January 27, 1943, page 1, transcribed by Linda Berney: Joseph Edward Wilson, twin brother of Flodora Wilson, was born October 26, 1864 in Beardstown, Illinois and passed away at his home in St. Paul, Neb., Jan. 18, 1943 at the age of 75 years, 2 months and 23 days. Mr. Wilson came to Nebraska in 1883 at the age of nineteen and located at Rising City, Butler County. While living there he was employed as a photographer. In 1894 he was united in marriage to Miss Mary Hill. To this union was born one daughter, now Mrs. Nellie Haudescheldt of David City. Shortly after the birth of this daughter, the mother passed away. In June 1898 Mr. Wilson came to Howard county and located at Cushing. While living there he engaged in photography, and later, because of poor health, he became a carpenter. It has been said of him that he built most of the houses in Cushing. On Aug. 3, 1905 he married Miss Elizabeth Cochran. To this union four daughters were born, Bertha, who preceded him in death, Mrs. A. R. Briggs, Vivian and Jean, all of St. Paul, Neb. The family moved to St. Paul in August, 1940 where they have made their home ever since. Besides the immediate members of the family he leaves to mourn his death, two brothers, James of Bonesteel, So. Dak., and Frank of Ewing; three sisters, Mrs. Otto Hartford, Bonesteel, So. Dak., Mrs. Rose Zollers of Riverdale and Mrs. Mathilda Harris of Rising City, also five grandchildren. During his residence at Rising City he was a member of the Congregational church, but transferred his membership to the Methodist church in Cushing when he moved there. He with the other members of his family have been affiliated with the Methodist church in St. Paul since May 10, 1942. At one time he was a member of the Ancient Order of United Workmen. Mr. Wilson had not been in good health for some time, but his sudden death came as a shock to his many friends. While he was not so well known in St. Paul he will be missed by those who had become acquainted with him and had come to have him in their respect. Interment was in Rock Creek cemetery.
