Mr. Donlin was born June 15, 1904, near Kingsley. He moved with his parents to a farm near Merrill, where he attended school. He later attended St. Joseph's Parochial School in Le Mars. He married Gertrude Hoffman on April 28, 1937 in Merrill and the couple farmed near Merrill until retiring and moving to Le Mars in 1984. He was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church, its Holy Name Society, and the Knights of Columbus, Trinity Council 1466 in Le Mars. Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Mrs. Dennis (Joan) Guinane of Glenwood, and Mary Donlin of Omaha, Neb.; three sons, Larry of Monroe, Wis., John of St. Louis, Mo., and Fritz of Le Mars; six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
