Read More	Joseph Eggerling, Sr. Summoned By Death After an illness of several weeks duration, death came to Joseph Eggerling, Sr. last Friday evening at five o'clock at the home southeast of Creighton, the cause being attributed to abnormal blood pressure induced by the ravages of dropsy. The deceased was born in Widenbouck, Westphalm, Germany on September 5, 1858 and died on April 15, 1932 at the age of 73 years, 7 months and 10 days. In the year 1882 he emigrated to the United States with his sisters and brothers, first locating at West Point, Nebr., where he purchased a farm. About forty years ago he was united in marriage to Mary Ebbers. This union was blessed with seven children, three daughters and four sons. Nineteen years ago Mr. Eggerling sold out his interests at West Point ans moved to Creighton, where he purchased a farm east of Creighton and made his home there up to the time of his death. His wife preceded him to the great beyond on Dec. 11. 1928. The surviving daughters and sons are: Mrs. F.M. Dibble; Mrs. Ben Dartman, Anna Eggerling and Tony, John, Joe and Henry. He also leaves to mourn two brothers, Henry, Orient, S.D. and John, West Point and one sister Mrs. Wm. Grosserehde of Howells, Nebr. and fifteen grandchildren. Funeral services were held Monday morning at 9 o'clock from St. Ludger church, the Rector, Father Windolph, celebrating requiem high mass and officiating at the burial, which was made in St. Ludger cemetery. Many were the friends of the family, who attended the funeral that they might the better meditate on the life of their friend, who lived quietly and honestly as a neighbor and friend to everyone and who left them by death that they be more emphatically reminded of his earthly goodness and of his kindliness among them. He was respected during his lifetime because he commanded such respects by refraining from injuring his fellowman by work of deed.
