Description	:	The death of Joseph F. Butler, the Northwestern switchman who was injured recently while working in the local yards, occurred yesterday at Agatha Hospital where he had been receiving treatment since the accident. The funeral will be held Sunday afternoon at 2 o’clock from the residence, 1705 Fifth street, and at 2:30 o’clock at the new Odd Fellows hall, corner of Fourth street and Eighth avenue. Rev. G.A. Mr. Butler was born in Rochester, NY, January 1, 1850, coming to this vicinity when a boy, his parents settling in the country near this city. He was united in marriage with Miss Mary Waterhouse in DeWitt in 1873 and since 1850 has been employed by the Northwestern. The accident which resulted in his death occurred just a week ago yesterday. He was thrown from the top of a car to the ground, striking on his head, when the rails spread. He was unconscious up to the time of his death. Mr. Butler was well known, and universally esteemed and respected. He was a member of the Brotherhood of Railway Trainmen, and of the various branches of the IOOF. Surviving him are his wife, two children, Arthur Butler of Freeport, Ill, and Mrs. May Miller of Iowa. He also leaves three brothesr, Moses Butler of DeWitt, Frank Butler of Marshalltown, John Butler, in the west, and three sisters, Mrs. Mary Gabeihel, Anaconda, Mont, Mrs. Louise Tompkins, Chicago , and Mrs. Rosa Craig, Iowa
