Three brothers to John Michael came from Ireland; Daniel Michael went to Botetourt County, Peter Michael went to New York, and another relocated to Tennessee. They never met again. John Michael, born 1788 and died in 1866, his wife was Elizabeth. They had four children, David, Peter, George, and Joseph. David Michael, born 1823 and married Mary J. Whistleman, 1855. Peter Michael, was married twice, Lydia Varner and then Delilah Malcolm Neil. George Michael was married to Mary Moyers, in 1827. Lastly, Joseph F. Michael, married Susan (unkn). ----Note 2. (A marriage record could not be located through Family Search). She is just listed as Susan Michael in available records. David and Mary had six children: Lavina Michael, born 1856 and married to Jared M. Malcomb, James Robert Michael, who married Mary Armstrong, Harrison Michael married in Fauquier County, Martin also married in Fauquier County, Mary E. Michael not listed as having married. Lastly, Daniel T. Michael, married a E. V. Splawn. Peter Michael was the father of Henry C Michael that married Lillian Bodkin in 1893. Mary T. Michael, who was born in 1867 married Franklin N. Gwin in 1882. Sarah Michael married George A. Bodkin. Eli C Michael married E. A. Simmons, Pdn., 1875. Robert Michael married in Augusta County. Joseph F Michael married Susan (unkn); their daughter Almira was born in 1853 married Flavius N. Lowery, in 1882. Elizabeth, married Edward E. Curry in 1888. Martha Ann Michael married Gilbert G. Lowery, in 1891 Joseph Michael, is in the 1880 U.S. Census, he and Susan Michael, had moved further up into the mountains from Augusta County into the Stonewall district of Highland County.
