Another child, Mary Jane, died in infancy, in Ohio. Joseph shares a stone with his wife, Nancy. His inscription is on the north side of the stone, and the inscription for Nancy is on the south side. Obituary From "Ottumwa Courier," November 5, 1891: Joseph Foreman died at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Walker, 369 South Moore Street, at 7:30 this morning. The deceased was born in Fleming County, Kentucky, in 1804, from which place he moved with his parents to Clark County, Ohio, where he lived until 1850. In that year he moved to Agency, this county, where he resided till 1885 when he moved to Ottumwa. His wife died several years ago, but five children survive to mourn his loss. The funeral will be held at Agency Sunday morning, the cortege leaving the residence at 9 o'clock Sunday morning for Agency by carriage. "Funeral Service Notice," From "Ottumwa Courier" The funeral of Joseph Foreman occurred yesterday, the remains being taken from the family residence in South Ottumwa to the brick church at Agency, where a very large congregation was gathered. The interment took place in the Agency Cemetery, Rev. H.D. Crawford conducting the services.
