Hayes, and Mr. and Mrs. Elisa Prickett of New London; Mr. and Mrs. Ed Glidden of Chicago, Illinois; Dallas and Louise Kerr, and Mrs. Tom Delzell and children of Davenport; Mr. and Mrs. Harry Reece of Winfield; Mr. and Mrs. Karl Owens of Mt. Union; Mr. and Mrs. Chas. Bates, Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Whisler, and Mrs. O. C. Anderson of Wapello; Mr. and Mrs. Jas. Siverly of Dodgeville; Mr. and Mrs. Chet McConahay and Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Woodruff of Columbus Junction. Joseph Frances Kerr, son of Richard and Mary Kerr, was born at Jacktown, Licking county, Ohio, June 17, 1849. He moved with his parents to Iowa in 1852. He was the eldest of five brothers, also had one half-sister and eight half-brothers. One brother, J, A. Kerr of Cedar Rapids, is living. He was married to Sarah Jane Owens February 4, 1875, at Morning Sun. To them were born nine children, one daughter passing away in infancy. The surviving children are: Charley, Dave, James and Maurice Kerr, Mrs. Mary Strawhacker, Mrs. Maggie Kremer, Miss Angie Kerr, all of Morning Sun, and Mrs. Rose Pontzius of Mediapolis. These with twenty-two grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, one brother and seven half-brothers and numerous other relatives and friends mourn the death of this well-known and highly respected citizen.
