Joseph was born on November 7, 1930, in Russell County, VA, to George H. and Vadia (nee Musick) Hubbard. One of nine children, Joseph attended grammar school in Amonate, WV. He retired from the U.S. Army after 20 plus years, having served in Europe, Japan, and Korea. After his military career came to an end, he became a carpenter, and loved to build anything with his hands. In 1953, while stationed in Cincinnati, Ohio, he met Rosemary Barger, while she was working part time as a cafe waitress. They were married on April 30, 1954, in Lawrenceburg, IN, and together raised a son in their New Richmond, OH home. Joseph enjoyed the outdoor life, building things with his hands, and spending time with his family. Joseph loved children, and as long as they paid the "Toll", they could have as much candy as they wanted. He believed that "You can't fix stupid" and would love to debate any topic you were willing to discuss, especially politics and how this world turns. Joseph was truly one of a kind and one of the greatest sons, brothers, husbands, Dads, grandparents, and uncles. He had a heart of gold and those who had the privilege of being part of his life will have a missing piece of their heart in Heaven.
