Description	:	THE LATE JOSEPH GRAHAM --------------- One of the most highly respected residents of Edwell, Mr. Joseph Graham, departed this life on Wednesday, April 16, at the age of 86 years. Though feeble and unable to move around much for the last year and a half, yet he enjoyed general good health, taking an interest in everything, his memory being excellent. He seemed as well as usual until Monday evening, April 14, when he suddenly became unconscious from heart failure, remaining so until the end came peacefully, without pain or suffering, early Wednesday morning. Read More	THE LATE JOSEPH GRAHAM --------------- One of the most highly respected residents of Edwell, Mr. Joseph Graham, departed this life on Wednesday, April 16, at the age of 86 years. Though feeble and unable to move around much for the last year and a half, yet he enjoyed general good health, taking an interest in everything, his memory being excellent. He seemed as well as usual until Monday evening, April 14, when he suddenly became unconscious from heart failure, remaining so until the end came peacefully, without pain or suffering, early Wednesday morning. To mourn the loss of a kind father, he left three sons, John H., of Long Beach, Cal.; Frank and Herman, of Edwell; also one daughter, Mrs. John T. Kendrew, of Calgary. His wife died in June, 1919. Mr. Graham came here with his family from near St. Thomas, Ont., and took up land in the spring of 1901. He was brought up in the Society of Friends, was a Liberal in politics, and one of the pioneer temperance workers in Ontario. He always took an active part in the welfare of the place where he lived, being a Councillor in the early days of Local Improvement, also, for years, a school trustee at Edwell, and a steward of the Methodist church. A kind neighbor, a faithful friend and true Christian, he has entered in the the "rest that remaineth for the people of God." The funeral took place on Friday, April 18, at his late residence, services being conducted by Rev. J.L. Hughes, and attended by a large number of friends and neighbors. The interment was in Red Deer cemetery. The sincere sympathy of the community is extended to the family in their bereavement. Red Deer News, April 23, 1924
