He married the Antonina Miara (nee Gibowska), the daughter of Martin Gibowski and Hedwig Banaszak at Mikuszewo, Wrzesnia County in 1876. There were several thriving colonies of ex-patriate Poles from the Poznan and Gniezno areas in eastern Michigan. They settled near several friends and former neighbors in the Kawkawlin/Beaver/Fisherville area. Antonina would die in 1899 and was buried in St. Patrick's Cemetery.
