Read More	Joseph Henry King July 31, 1928 - October 4, 2018 Mason City -- Joseph Henry King (Sam), passed away on October 4, 2018, at the age of 90, at his home in Jacksonville, NC. Joe, Son of Leo D. King and Bridgett (O'Donnell) King, was born July 31, 1928, in Mason City, Iowa. He graduated from St. Joseph Catholic School in Mason City in 1945 and then served his country by joining the Army Air Corps from 1945-1947 where he was stationed in Hawaii as an MT Driver in support of the war. After 30+ years at the Northwestern Portland Cement Co., Joe retired and lived at Hobby Acres where he and his family operated an egg-producing chicken farm south of Mason City for 6 years. Joe had an active social life; his passion for bowling made him a legend in league bowling around Mason City, he was a longtime member of the Prince of Peace Church, and he and Hazel would often be found having coffee with friends most mornings. Joe was known for his sense of humor, infectious laugh, and gregarious nature. He will be greatly missed. He is preceded in death by his parents, Leo D. King and Bridgett King (O'Donnell) , brother Leo D. King Jr., spouse Hazel D. King, former spouse Phyllis G. Hesley, children; Dennis M. Eenhuis and Nancy Jo Rodriguez (King), and grandchildren; William and Patricia King. He is survived by his seven children; William L. King (Steph) of Mason City, Teresa Harms (Steve) of Hampton, Thomas A. King of Dows, Karen Hubacher of Jacksonville, NC, Pam Kleven (Mark) of Mason City, Nancy Gail Young (Tim) of Manly, Joseph P. King of Jacksonville, NC; his 20 grandchildren, 36 great grandchildren, and 10 great-great grandchildren. A funeral procession will depart from the VFW Post 733 in Mason City at 1:30 after which there will be a graveside service held at Memorial Park Cemetery in Mason City on October 22nd at 2pm. Following the ceremony, there will a celebration of life gathering held at the VFW starting at 3pm.
