Description	:	Joseph Fitzwater, better known as "Jones", was born in Pennsylvania to Thomas and Polly Fitzwater. This Fitzwater family lived close to the Samuel and Emily (Moses) Wallace and David McCreery families in Brecksville. Jones came to live with the Wallace family when he was about sixteen years old and not long after his mother died in 1849; this also was around the time that Samuel Wallace took ill with Typhoid. Read More	Joseph Fitzwater, better known as "Jones", was born in Pennsylvania to Thomas and Polly Fitzwater. This Fitzwater family lived close to the Samuel and Emily (Moses) Wallace and David McCreery families in Brecksville. Jones came to live with the Wallace family when he was about sixteen years old and not long after his mother died in 1849; this also was around the time that Samuel Wallace took ill with Typhoid. Jones remained after Samuel died in 1850 until Emily died in 1896 (over 46 years). After Samuel died, Emily continued the estate building and farming. Without a doubt her continuous success was in many ways doable because of the loyalty and hard work Jones provided the family. Jones is represented on the family monument, and like all the Wallace family, he too has a separate tombtone located a few graves away from the rest of the family. In Emily Wallace's Last Will & Testament she (I transcribed) "bequeath to Jones Fitzwater the Farm of about (98) acres of land known as the John Breck farm Situated in the East part of Brecksville Township. With all of the Farm inmplements which shall be upon said Farm at my death. With two Horses and all of the Harneses and one cow. One Bead and Bedding belonging there unto said farm, With one table, One set of Chairs and all of the Sheep that shall be upon the place at my death. With all of the Wagons and Buggies upon Said place. Except one two Horse Buggy and one Carriage or (tax bugy) Which shall go to my Daughter Susan Mc Crary. I also give to said Jones Fizwater in addition to the above, One Thousand ($1000.) dollars in Money. (11) My will is that Lewis Russ be the Person who shall be appointed to look after & see that Jones Fizwater shall have his interest as I have made & provided for him in this my last Will and Testament..." Jones was to have this home until his natural death as long as he kept up with the taxes.
