In the 1900 census, Joe was living with his mother and step-father, Richard Spencer in Loveland, Colorado. His occupation was listed as "Teamster". Joseph married Alma Patton on September 2, 1903, in Loveland, Larimer County, Colorado. Alma was born July 13, 1885, in Kansas, the daughter of George Oscar and Mary Margaret "Molly" (Smith) Patton. Joe and Alma had the following known children: 1. Netha Alma (Milner) Macfarlane(1905-2001) 2. Paul J. Milner (1906-1970) 3. Enid Miller (1909-1971) 4. Fern Iris (Milner) Wolaver (1921-1979) 5. Mable Cleo (Milner) Wild (1924-1997) In the 1910 census, John was working as a Hod Carrier in the housing industry. In the 1930 census, he was working as a laborer in the farming industry. In 1940 he was working as a cement finisher in government work. In the 1950 census, he was listed as unable to work. Joe died December 11, 1950, in Loveland, Larimer County, Colorado. Alma died September 26, 1974, in Loveland, Larimer County, Colorado. From the Fort Collins Coloradoan, 12 Dec 1950, page 2: Joseph Milner Dies Joseph Milner, 71, life-long resident of Loveland and an employee of the city water department for many years, died at his home there Monday evening. He had been ill for about a year of heart trouble and other complications. Hs is survived by his widow, Mrs. Alma Milner; and five children, Mrs. Netha Macfarlane of Cedar Edge, Colo., Paul Milner of Glenrock, Wyo., Miss Enid Milner of Denver, and Mrs. Fern Wolaver and Mrs. Cleo Wild of Loveland. The funereal will be at the Hammond mortuary at 2 p. m. Thursday. Burial will be at Lakeside cemetery.
