Description	:	Joseph "Joe" Ramsey, 83, East Wenatchee, a former longtime Walla Walla resident, went to join his loving wife Tuesday evening, Feb. 3, 1998, from Central Washington Hospital. He was born on Feb. 27, 1914, at Pettibone, N.D., to Alonzo and Susie (Pearson) Ramsey. He was raised and schooled in the Pettibone area of North Dakota. Following his high school graduation, he taught school in a one-room school house in Pettibone. He later took over his family's farming operation near Pettibone. Read More	Joseph "Joe" Ramsey, 83, East Wenatchee, a former longtime Walla Walla resident, went to join his loving wife Tuesday evening, Feb. 3, 1998, from Central Washington Hospital. He was born on Feb. 27, 1914, at Pettibone, N.D., to Alonzo and Susie (Pearson) Ramsey. He was raised and schooled in the Pettibone area of North Dakota. Following his high school graduation, he taught school in a one-room school house in Pettibone. He later took over his family's farming operation near Pettibone. On June 12, 1947, he was married to Leona Veona Strobel at Bismarck, N.D. They continued to operate their farm during the summers and made their home in Bismarck during the winters. In 1958 they moved to Walla Walla where he went to work as a lineman for Pacific Northwest Bell. He retired in 1981, after 22 years with the phone company. They remained in Walla Walla until moving to East Wenatchee in 1992. He attended Grace Lutheran Church in Wenatchee and Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Walla Walla. He enjoyed gardening and reading. He is survived by three daughters and sons-in-law, Mrs. James (Carol) Quigley, Lacey, Mrs. Peter (Bonnie) Georgantas, Goffstown, N.H., and Mrs. Joseph (Marilyn) Crone, East Wenatchee; two brothers, James Ramsey, Portland, Ore., and Benjamin Ramsey, Barstow, Calif.; and six grandchildren, Richard Sauer, Redmond, Daniel Sauer, Orange Park, Fla., Serene Georgantas, Goffstown, N.H., Kristopher Crone, Jacob Crone and Matthew Crone, all of East Wenatchee. He was preceded in death by his wife, Leona, on Jan. 12, 1996. Arrangements are by Telford's Chapel of the Valley, East Wenatchee.
