Born in Czechoslovakia, Nov. 6, 1879, he was the son of John and Katherine Jonas. He came to the United States with his parents. Read More	*************************************** Joseph Jonas, 79, Dies In Lincoln Funeral services were held Friday afternoon for Joseph Jonas, 79, who died March 11 in Lincoln. Born in Czechoslovakia, Nov. 6, 1879, he was the son of John and Katherine Jonas. He came to the United States with his parents. The family settled down on a farm near DeWitt and later moved to Havelock. He was one of five children. He was married to Emily Shestak in August 1903. He worked in the Havelock shops and then moved to a farm. He was in care of the state hospital over a period of 45 years where he had his shop and did repair work and followed some hobbies. He was a member of the Tabor Z.C.B.J. Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Bertha Trouba of Crete and a son, Joseph of Dorchester; three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Rev. J. G. Balzer officiated at services in the Kuncl Chapel. Interment was at Pleasant Hill.
