Description	:	Joseph Kramer was born November 15, 1863, at Trier, Germany, and passed away at Nelson, Nebraska, April 6, 1943, his age being 79 years, 4 months and 22 days. He came to the United States at the age of 21, living for a time in Nebraska City, Nebraska, where he was later united in marriage to Ernestine Fisher. To this union were born six children, two dying in infancy. His wife preceded him in death, March 18, 1909. Read More	Joseph Kramer was born November 15, 1863, at Trier, Germany, and passed away at Nelson, Nebraska, April 6, 1943, his age being 79 years, 4 months and 22 days. He came to the United States at the age of 21, living for a time in Nebraska City, Nebraska, where he was later united in marriage to Ernestine Fisher. To this union were born six children, two dying in infancy. His wife preceded him in death, March 18, 1909. In 1904 the family moved to Nuckolls County to a farm near Nelson, where he remained for twenty-nine years, then moving to Thayer, Iowa, where he spent the remaining years of his life with his daughter, Mrs. Charles Willett. He is survived by the following children John of Nelson, Lawrence of Superior, Nebraska; Mrs. Nora Jensen of Gentry, Mo.; Mrs. Charles Willett of Thayer, Iowa; and two sisters still residing in Germany. Also ten grandchildren, twelve great grandchildren, besides other relatives and friends. When a young man he united with the Lutheran Church. He was a kind and loving father, loving home life, and he will be greatly missed by all. I cannot say, and I will not say That he is dead - he is just away, With a cheery smile and a wave of the hand - He has wandered into an unknown land. It needs must be since he lingers there, And you - O you, who the wildest yearn, For the old time step and glad return. Think of him following on, as dear In the love of there as the love of here; Think of him still as the same, I say; He is not dead - he is just away.
