Description	:	Funeral services were held Monday morning at 9:30 o’clock at the St. Wenceslaus church for Joseph Mikesh of Cedar Rapids, whose body was brought here for burial. The Rev. Alphonse Biskup conducted the services. The son of the late Joseph and Mary Mikesh, he was born on the Mikesh homestead east of Spillville in August, 1870, where he grew to manhood. In 1898 he was united in marriage to Nellie Owens at Ossian. To this union, three daughters were born, two of whom survive. Alphonse Biskup conducted the services. The son of the late Joseph and Mary Mikesh, he was born on the Mikesh homestead east of Spillville in August, 1870, where he grew to manhood. In 1898 he was united in marriage to Nellie Owens at Ossian. To this union, three daughters were born, two of whom survive. For several years he operated a harness shop at Calmar and later took up the barber trade which he followed at Decorah and while there he played with the Decorah bands and orchestras as he was a skilled clarinetist. For the past many years he was a resident of Cedar Rapids. Two brothers, Prof. James Mikesh of Lawrenceville, N. J., and Martin A. Mikesh of Jersey City; two sisters Mrs. J. J. (Anna) Kubish of Fort Atkinson and Mrs. F. C. (Emma) Swella of Spillville and two grandchildren of Cedar Rapids are also among the survivors. Those from out of town attending the funeral were his daughter and son-in-law Mr. and Mrs. Carringer of Cedar Rapids, Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Kalishek, Little Turkey; Mr. and Mrs. J. J.
