ID [C82a3] --------- Shelbyville Herald: Joseph Neff died at his home in this city at 6:30 a. m., Monday, after a short illness of congestion of the lungs following the grip. He was born in Virginia May 18, 1820 (sic), came to Shelby county, Missouri, in 1855, living here one year and then moving to Macon county, where he resided until about eighteen months ago, when he moved with his wife to this city. When he first came here the country was very thinly settled. His funeral took place from the Baptist church yesterday at 2 p. m., conducted by Rev. J. A. Day. He leaves a wife and six sons all the sons being here except Edward, who is in Oklahoma. He was a member of the Brptist church and a good man.
