Description	:	Joseph Nicholas Becker was born to John Becker and Mary Kremer Becker on December 25, 1895, at Exeter and passed away January 10, 1986, at Warren Memorial Hospital in Friend at the age of 90 years, and 16 days. He was the last survivor of 13 children in the family. He attended St. Stephen's School. Read More	Joseph Nicholas Becker was born to John Becker and Mary Kremer Becker on December 25, 1895, at Exeter and passed away January 10, 1986, at Warren Memorial Hospital in Friend at the age of 90 years, and 16 days. He was the last survivor of 13 children in the family. He attended St. Stephen's School. After finishing his education, Joe engaged in a variety of occupations, one being a buggy driver for Dr. Stratton. He was then a farm helper before starting to farm for himself. After leaving the farm, he worked for the railroad, at the Fairmont Airbase, Cravens Lumber in Exeter, and then he drove a truck until his retirement in 1961. Joe was married to Mathilda Ries of Ridgely on September 2, 1925, and to them six children were born. Joe was a member of St. Stephen's Catholic Church all his life. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; six brothers; six sisters and one son, Roland. He is survived by sons, Arlan and Donald, both of Exeter; daughters, Mrs. Lyle (Loretta) Farrell of North Platte, Mrs. Robet (Donna Jean) Welhert of Ft. Calhoun and Mrs. James (Agnes Ann) Loukota of Bradenton, Fl.; 26 grandchildren and 37 great-grandchildren. Funeral services were conducted from St. Stephen's Catholic Church, Exeter on Monday, January 13, with Father H.H. Ingenhorst officiating. Henrietta Harre accompanied Cherlyn Rassett who provided the vocal selections. Pallbearers were Bob Becker, Urban Becker, Don Dumpert, Arnold Gieger, Clarence Cudaback and John Kearns. Interment was in the Exeter Cemetery. The Nebraska Signal January 23rd, 1986 page 16.
