Obenour, 84, retired Erie Railroad engineer of 619 Etna Avenue, who died at 12:40 p.m.Tuesday in the Town and Country Nursing Home, will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday in the Robbins Funeral Home. The body will be taken from this city to the Schindlewolf, Steiner and Stevens Funeral Home at Kenton, Ohio, for services at 11 a.m. Friday. The Rev. Mr. Obenour, who retired July 1, 1945, after 30 years of service with the railroad, was born August 2, 1879, in Hardin County, Ohio, to Levi and Margaret Hacker Obenour. His first marriage was to Belva Lingo on October 22, 1903. She died December 29, 1926. The second marriage was to Amanda Beedy in 1940 in this city. Mr. Obenour resided in Huntington the last 47 years. Surviving are the widow; eight daughters, Mrs. William (Leota) Harshman, Mrs. Reuben (Pearl) Sellers, Mrs. Fred (Reva) Sands, Mrs. Carl (Lucille) Short, Mrs. Ralph (Opal) Dolby, Mrs. Ralph (Margaret) Kneller, and Miss Eloise Obenour, all of this city, and Mrs. Kenneth (Wilma) Jackson, Roanoke; three sons, Vaughn L. Obenour, Huntington, Fred J. Obenour, Columbus, Ohio, and Robert G. Obenour, Marion, Ohio; 38 grandchildren, 62 great-grandchildren, two sisters, Mrs. Amanda Jennings, Santa Maria, Calif., and Mrs. Lydia Rankin, Fresno, Calif., and a brother, M. N. Obenour, Marion, Ohio. Two sons, four brothers and four sisters are dead.
