Description	:	Dad (Joseph Philip) was born in Webster, South Dakota, U.S.A. on April 10, 1890; Mother (Nora Miller) was born at Glencoe, Minnesota, U.S.A. on March 16, 1894. Dad and Mom were united in marriage in Web- ster, South Dakota on February 18, 1912. There they lived on a farm until they moved to Lisbon, North Dakota in 1921. In the fall of 1924 they made the move to Alberta. Mother, along with five of her children�Delores, Lorraine, Eileen, Wayne (Buddy), Georgia, and James Miller, her brother, made the trip to Alberta by train in October of 1924. Dad and Mom were united in marriage in Web- ster, South Dakota on February 18, 1912. There they lived on a farm until they moved to Lisbon, North Dakota in 1921. In the fall of 1924 they made the move to Alberta. Mother, along with five of her children�Delores, Lorraine, Eileen, Wayne (Buddy), Georgia, and James Miller, her brother, made the trip to Alberta by train in October of 1924. A month later, in November 1924; Dad and his two oldest sons, Marvin and Nobert, made the trip with a Model-T Ford. After arriving at Rimbey, Mom and Dad with the family stayed with Grandma and Grandpa Becker for the winter. Then Mom and Dad moved and lived in the present Tricker place until they pur- chased the N.W. 33-42-3-W5 and built a house in about 1926. In order to support the family Dad and his two oldest sons went to work at Ross and Beards near Breton in 1928 or 1929. Dad also worked for Etter- McDougall at Camp #1 in the fall of 1934 and spring of 1935 skidding logs. He also broke and cleared land on the farm in order that he could do some farming. For various periods in 1940's Dad worked for Et- ter-McDougal, as an oiler. In order to make ends meet in the depression years, Dad and the older boys went hunting in the fall. Mom grew a very large garden for preserves and picked and canned many quarts of berries. In 1952 Mother and Dad moved to Winfield. At this time Dad worked with his son Dale on road construction and then left for northern Saskatch- ewan where he was employed for Burns and Dut- ton building the mill for refining uranium. On completion of the mill he went to work for Eldor- ado Mining and Refining.
