(per findagrave contributor) Creighton News, Creighton, Nebraska, Thursday, June 29th, 1911 Joseph Rish was born September 15, 1827, in Daulphin county, Penn., was married in 1858 to Hannah E. Reed. To this union thirteen children were born, nine boys and four girls, of whom five boys and one girl survives. He served one year in the civil war and came to Nebraska in 1878, locating on a homestead five miles west and one mile north of Winnetoon. At the death of his wife he left the homestead and has since made his home with his children. He died in Winnetoon at the home of Joshua Smith on June 24, 1911, aged 83 years 9 months and 9 days. The funeral was held from the M. E. Church in Winnetoon, Sunday at 2 p.m., Rev. Earl E. Bowen conducting the service. Burial was at Bazile.
