Sherrell and the Rev. Hiram McElrath. Burial will follow in Pennyroyal Memorial Gardens. Mayer Funeral Home, Georgetown Chapel, is in charge. He grew up in Ruby and served in the Army Air Corps during World War II. Mr. Allen lived in Kannapolis, N.C., prior to moving to Georgetown in 1957. He had retired as an employee of the Container Division of International Paper Company and was a member of First Baptist Church and the Fellowship Class of the church. Surviving are wife, Astrid Mattson Allen of Georgetown; daughters, Teresa Allen Harter and her husband, Mark, of Georgetown, Deanna Allen Saylor and her husband, Bill, of Wilmington, N.C.; stepson, Richard H. Shelton and his wife, Sharon, of Greenville; brother, Jerome Brooks Allen of Fayetteville, N.C.; sisters, Juanita Allen Mitchum of Georgetown, Dottie Allen Menius of Surfside Beach; four grandchildren; one stepgrandchild; one great-grandchild.
