She may be the Lucretia Perrine baptised 21 Nov 1740 Harlingen Dutch Reformed Church daughter of Peter and Eve Perrine, though some records of Roy descendants list her birth as 1747. Joseph appears on the 1775 tax list of Bedminister, Somerset County and is on the list of rateables in Bernards township in May 1778 owning 64 acres, one horse, three cattle, and one hog and is continually taxed during his life in Bernards township. He enlisted 15 Oct 1781 during the American Revolution and was discharged 21 June 1783, being a private in Captain Gosseline's Company of Colonel Moses Hazen's New Jersey continental troops. He was a pew holder with Matthias Goble of pew no. 27 in the Basking Ridge Presbyterian Church and of no. 49 from 1769 to 1776 and pew holder of no. 28 from 1783 to 1786. Will of Joseph Roy of Bernards township dated 23 Jan 1818. Property both real and personal sold and profits divided into eleven shares and disposed of to Ann Roy, Joseph I. Roy, Israel R. Roy, John Roy, Peter Perin Roy, Samuel Roy, and Lucretia Roy being children of son, Peter Roy, dec'd, and to Caty Ann Dayton, Sarah Dayton, Lucretia Dayton, and Joel Dayton being children of daughter, Margaret, dec'd. Executors, grandson Joseph I. Roy and friend David Kirkpatrick. Witnessed by John Ricky, Malachi McColum, and Daniel Leign. Inventory filed 11 July 1823 and proved 13 July 1823. Lucretia Roy would seemingly be deceased before 23 Jan 1818 as she is not named in her husband's will. The widow Roy taxed in 1818 in Bernards township was perhaps their son Peter's wife. Joseph is related to have lived with Peter's wife after Lucretia's death. Lucretia is related to have d. at age 72 at Pine Brook (this was more likely Mine Brook). If she was born in 1747 as some records indicate then her death was about 1819, and thus would seemingly have been named in her husband's Will. If she was born in 1740, then her death may have been about 1812. Joseph is related to have d. 17 June 1823 at Pine Brook (this was more likely Mine Brook). There is a Pine Brook in eastern Morris County, but there is no indication they ever resided there. Mine Brook is a locality in Bernards township. Their daughter, Margaret had removed to Mendham, Morris County and predeceased them. They are related to have been buried at Basking Ridge Presbyterian Cemetery. They have no memorial markers that have known to have survived. Children: Peter Roy b. 6 July 1769. Margaret Roy b. 2 Apr 1774.
