Reiser Joseph Sebastian Reiser was born to Nicholas and Susan Reiser, May 23, 1868 and passed away October 5, 1952 at the age of 84 years, 5 months and 12 days. Reiser Joseph Sebastian Reiser was born to Nicholas and Susan Reiser, May 23, 1868 and passed away October 5, 1952 at the age of 84 years, 5 months and 12 days. "Joe", as he was known by all had been in failing health since he suffered a heart attack May 12. He was taken to the Lynch hospital on May 24th where he remained for several weeks. He was again taken to the hospital September 26 where he remained until his passing. In 1885 he came with his family to Holt County where they took a claim on the Niobrara River south of Butte, Nebraska. Mr. Reiser and a brother were caught in the famous 1888 blizzard while hauling hogs to Atkinson. Fortunately they found refuge in a ranch home. In 1891 he came to Boyd County and homesteaded four miles south east of Butte, which has remained his home. On January 27, 1892 he was united in marriage to Mary Mlinar of Atkinson. To this union four children were born. One son and one daughter preceded him death, Roy at the age of four years, and Clara Counts on January 2, 1949. His wife preceded him in death December 16, 1950. Mr. Reiser was one of a family of eleven children, all of who have preceded him in death, but one brother, Ben of Holt County. Funeral services were held Wednesday morning at St. Mary's Church in Spencer, Nebraska with Father Wm. Foster officiating. Burial was made in St. Mary's Cemetery. He leaves to mourn his passing, two sons, Dan and Earl of Spencer, Nebraska, four grandchildren, Raymond Counts of Lynch, Mrs. Evelyn McNair and Elaine Klasna both of Spencer and Richard Counts of Woodland, California; seven great-grandchildren and many relatives and friends. Pallbearers were Melvin Lueken, Frank Reiser, Leo Reiser, Charley Mlinar and Will Tasler. Those from a distance attending the funeral were: Mr. and Mrs. Adolph Mlinar, Mr. and Mrs. Charley Tasler, Mrs. A. J. Tasler, Mr. and Mrs. Harry Mlinar, Mr. and Mrs. W. E.
