When he was 3 years old his parents died and he was raised by an aunt. At the age of 20 he was married to Miss Barbara Kaminyenski in Bohemia. Read More	Joseph Shonka, 87, funeral will be held Friday with burial in Prospect Hill cemetery. He died 2 p.m. Tuesday at the home of his youngest son Anton in Norfolk. He was born in Bohemia. When he was 3 years old his parents died and he was raised by an aunt. At the age of 20 he was married to Miss Barbara Kaminyenski in Bohemia. At the age of 26 he and his wife and 4 children came to the United States, first to Omaha and then later to Beutler county where 2 more children were born. They stayed there for 17 years and then moved to Verdel for about 16 years. They then retired and moved to Verdigre where she died 7 years later. Since then he has made his home with his youngest son Antone at Norfolk. He was survived by 3 sons: Joseph at Hopkins, Minnesota; Anton at Norfolk, Tony at Minneapolis, Minnesota; 3 daughters: Mrs. Mary Otradovsky at Creighton, Mrs. Antonia Wise at Minneapolis, Minnesota; Mrs. Annie Wilderman at Burke, South Dakota; 20 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren.
