Description	:	Thanks to contributor #46975511 Joseph Soucek 97, of Minden died Monday April 17, 2006 at Long Term Care Unit of Kearney County Health Services in Minden. Services will be Friday at Layton-Craig Funeral Home in Minden with the Rev Dr Berke Landrum officiating. Burial will be at Minden Cemetery. He was born Feb 18, 1909, in Spring Ranch to Frank and Anna (Stretesky) Soucek. On Aug 8, 1933, he married Rena Peterson. She died in 2003. Survivors include is son, Dale of Paonia, Colo. When he was young, he moved with his family to the Bladen area, He attended and graduated from the eighth grade at the Highland School near Bladen. He and his wife farmed on the family farm. They later lived and farmed in the Norman-Minden area. They retired and moved into Minden in 1992. He enjoyed going to the Minden Senior Citizen Center where he played cards and played pool. He collected toy tractors and enjoyed playing the mouth harp and the button accordion. In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by one brother and four sisters. Kearney Hub April 19, 2006
