Read More	This community is again called upon to mourn the loss of one of its aged substantial and highly respected pioneers in the person of Joseph Treloar who, in his 88th year, died very suddenly at his home in Des Moines, Monday morning. While he has not been in the best of health for the past two years, he has been able to be about his home, active and made a number of visits to his children here. On the morning of his demise, his wife arose as was her custom, he spoke to her about arising. She turned to him in response to a request for his trousers. When she asked him if he was ready to get up he made no response; in almost the twinkling of an eye he was gone. The deceased was born in Cornwall, England, June 25, 1827. He came to America and Linden, Wis., in 1848, was married to Susan Craze in 1855, and came to Boone county and Marcy township in 1869. Here he made his home until a number of years ago, when he retired from the farm and moved to Des Moines. On the 14th of last June, Mr. and Mrs. Treloar had the distinction of celebrating their sixtieth wedding anniversary. At that time they came to their old homestead in Marcy township and with their ten children did honor to an occasion but few people live to enjoy. In his days as an active farmer in Marcy township, no farmer enjoyed the distinction of having better livestock and a more prosperous farm in general than did Joseph Treloar. Whenever there was an exhibition of livestock at the county fair he came away with a share of the blue ribbons. He was active and instrumental in the upbuilding of the church and school and was ever advocating improvements which lead to the betterment of conditions as a rural community. He was the father of ten children, as follows: Mrs. Mary Miller, Chowchea, Cal.; Benjamin, of this city; Mrs. Chris Peterson, Pomona, Cal.; Rev. J.E. Treloar, of Beaver Center Baptist church, this county; John, Alvin, and J.H., of Marcy township; W.C. of Ogden, and R.R. of Des Moines. Funeral services were somewhat delayed account of the absence of John Treloar and family who were touring the west at the time of his father's death and their inability to locate them. Funeral services will be held from the Methodist church in Ogden Friday at 10:30. The remains will arrive from Des Moines over the M. & St. L. at 9:00 o'clock. Rev. George Heaps, of Des Moines, longtime friend of the Treloar family will have charge of the services. Interment will be made at Glenwood beside that of his mother who was buried there a number of years ago. All of the children excepting Mrs. Miller will be present at the funeral. Ogden Reporter.
