Read More	From: The Bedford-Mail Publ: Friday May 20, 1898 OBITUARY Joseph Weaver was born near Lexington, Ky., June 28, 1820; died May 15, 1898, was buried at the Weaver cemetery May 16, followed to his last resting place by a large concourse of sorrowing relatives and friends. The funeral was conducted at the home of the deceased. He came to Indiana when but two years of age, was reared on a farm about three miles east of Leesville, where in March 1840 he was united in marriage to Lucinda McDade; to this union five children were born. Two died in infancy, one last winter and two still survive the father. January 25, 1874, the death angel visited his home and took away with him his wife, Lucinda. In Sept. 1876 he was married to Margaret Smith, of Bedford; to this union three children were born; all of whom are living. Since March, 1896, has uncle Joe suffered the intense pain of the dreaded disease, "Bright's disease." Ever will uncle Joe be remembered as he lay upon the death-bed, with a conscious mind looking so pleadingly up into dear ones faces, as if to say, "I've got to leave you." We that have experienced the same sad trials in our homes, can fully realize the aching hearts of those near relative ass they stood by his bedside and watched, day after day the form of uncle Joe fading away; and if the sympathy of friends could be any consolation under such a circumstance, be assured that all who knew him, share in your regret for his loss. There is one thing however, that should soften the sharpness of the near ones agony under such a sad bereavement. It is the reflection that all that are pure in heart and follow in the footsteps of their Savior will be numbered with the angels of God. Uncle Joe was one of these. He was a member of the Baptist church, belonging at Leesville. All is well with uncle Joe now. Much pain has he suffered, and no stands at the beautiful gate watching and waiting for thee.
