Description	:	Joseph Warren Smith was a son of John Posey & Margaret Ward Smith, and the husband of Mattie Kennemur Smith, who died in 1965. His obituary stated he was a native of the Mountain Springs section of Anderson County, and had lived in Liberty for many years. He was the owner/operator of Liberty Light & Power Company from 1910 to 1927, after which he sold the company to Duke Power. Read More	Joseph Warren Smith was a son of John Posey & Margaret Ward Smith, and the husband of Mattie Kennemur Smith, who died in 1965. His obituary stated he was a native of the Mountain Springs section of Anderson County, and had lived in Liberty for many years. Mr. Smith was a member of Liberty Methodist Church and the Woodmen of the World. Survivors at the time of his death (named children all deceased as well) were three sons, G. Franklin Smith of Easley, Ladson L. Smith of Easley, and T. Miller Smith of Germany; three daughters, Mrs. J.C. (Nellie) Jones of Thomasville, NC, Mrs. Rudolph J. (Jo) Daniel of Lake City, and Mrs. Wilson (Ruth) Page of Hartwell, GA; a brother Lawrence M. Smith of St. Petersburg, FL; two sisters, Mrs. Zora Boroughs of Liberty and Mrs. Fred B.(Marge) Rogers of Pelzer; 18 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. His funeral was held on Friday, June 7, 1968 at Robinson Funeral Home in Easley, with services conducted by the Rev. J.H. Ellis and the Rev. J.S. Edwards. Pallbearers were Wilson Page, Dr. George Smith, Harrison Smith, Earle Alewine, Harold Watson, and Harold Rampey. Burial: West View Cemetery, Liberty.
