Read More	Wenatchee World - Mar 28, 1999 Joseph W. Wilson, 94, a lifetime Waterville resident and long time businessman, died Thursday morning, March 25, 1999 in Highline Convalescent Center. He was born at Waterville on Nov. 9, 1904 to pioneer settlers, James M. G. and Olga (Brockman) Wilson. He grew up and received his early education at Waterville. He later attended Perry Institute in Yakima. In 1923 Joe started to work for the Waterville Auto Co. He learned his trade well, starting as a novice mechanic, working as a mechanic, shop foreman, and as a salesman. During W.W. II he worked as a shop foreman at the Air Depot in Spokane and taught machine work in the trade school at nights. He married Doris Lemon at Seattle on March 3, 1930 and they made their home at Waterville where she worked side by side with him in their business dealings. In 1946, to complete his goal in life, he opened and owned Big Bend Motor Co., a Dodge-Plymouth agency in Waterville. In 1960 he bought the Chevrolet-Oldsmobile dealership in Waterville and named it Big Bend Motors, Inc. He sold the agency in 1975. In addition to his auto agency, Joe and Dave Dorsey owned the Waterville Transfer. He was a "people person" who loved to visit and worked hard to keep Highway 2 running through Waterville. He loved to golf and hunt and fish. He was a member of Waterville St. Joseph's Catholic Church and the Wenatchee Golf and Country Club. He was a former charter member of the Waterville Lions, of the Waterville Volunteer Firemen, and past president of the Waterville Chamber of Commerce. Survivors include his wife Doris, of 69 years; a brother, Gene Wilson of East Wenatchee; two sisters, Louise Fletcher and Betty Bartholomew, both of Wenatchee; nine nieces and five nephews and many great-nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and three sisters. A Mass of the Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Monday morning, March 29, 1999 in the Waterville Federated Church. Reverend Father Seamus Kerr will be the Celebrant. Holy Rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. Sunday evening, March 28, 1999 in the Colonial Chapel of the Jones & Jones Funeral Home. Concluding services and the interment will follow in the Waterville Cemetery. If desired, memorials may be made to St. Joseph's Elevator Fund, The Waterville Ambulance or the charity of your choice in Joe's name. Arrangements are by the Waterville Funeral Home.
