Read More	Joseph William Schneider, 78, died suddenly on December 21, 2014 while wintering in Mesa AZ. He was born to George and Helen (Wells) Schneider May 23, 1936 in Okanogan, WA. He attended school in a one room school house at the Long Lake School on the Colville Indian Reservation, at Curlew WA & Omak WA. Joe joined the Army in 1955 and was stationed in Germany. He spent a short amount of time in the military hospital in Frankfurt and met Jayne Mansfield, who he fondly recalled smelling so wonderful. In 1958 Joe married the love of his life, the late Luella Green in Omak. They expanded their family with the arrival of their daughter Shelly in 1959 and JoElla in 1960. In 1963, Joe, Lu and the girls moved to Tonasket where they purchased Tonasket Feed & Supply. It was a true family-run business. They purchased a 1200 acre ranch in Pine Creek where they raised cattle and horses. They named it the S-4 Ranch and raced their horses for many years. The family spent a lot of time horseback riding, rodeoing, boating, skiing, snowmobiling, and just having fun. In 1979, they expanded their business by purchasing Omak Feed & Supply. In 1988, Joe and Lu built a new home in Omak on a 100-acre ranch where they raised hay. They retired in 2001 and spent much of their free time golfing, traveling around the country, making many new friends, and spending their winters in Arizona. Joe loved to dance and attended many dances at Maple Hall in Riverside and Squire Dances every Thursday when he was young. Joe was an excellent Pony Express racer and won many races. Joe enjoyed driving his own Semi Truck while he had the feed stores & was a successful businessman. Joe was on the Tonasket School board and help start the Tonasket Comancherso. Joe was a member of the Chewelah Golf and Country Club, Okanogan Valley Golf Club, Okanogan County Cattlemen, as well as other clubs in Arizona. Joe enjoyed helping out family and spending time with his daughters and grandchildren. He was a wonderful host to many large family gatherings and gave the best hugs. In October of 2014, Joe married his friend, Vivian Burse. Joseph is preceded in death by his late wife, Luella, his parents, George & Helen Schneider, two brothers, Jim & Anthony Schneider, 3 Sisters, Polly Truax, Helen Buzzard & Phyllis Beckwith; One niece and three nephews. Joe is survived by his daughters; Shelly Freeman (Tonasket) and JoElla Schneider (Omak), his grandchildren; Nichole (Johnny) Gebbers, Codi Jo (Chris) Karr, Josh (Kayla) Sidwell, Chase Sidwell, and Sasha Sidwell; eight great-grandchildren; Four sister, Dorothy (Larry) Philmon, Marilyn (Howard) Asmussen, Lois (John) Beeman and Penny (Larry) Neely; numerous nieces & nephews, several good friends, and his recent wife, Vivian.
